The End is the Beginning

Prologue

Before we begin, I think we should get a few things straight.

1.    The world you see and experience is real. But it’s not the only world there is to see and experience. The ocean is as vast and unknown as space. And the world I come from is as dark and dangerous as anything you’ll find on land.

2.    Some may call me an unreliable narrator. I felt that should be said up front. Why you ask? No reason in particular.

3.    Don’t make the mistake of assuming you’ve arrived at a love story. Turn the page, if you dare. But this isn’t some cliched tale about my heart. (yawn.) Welcome to my execution.

Episode One

As far as executions went, mine was fairly straightforward. The crown prince had died. And someone needed to be punished. Publicly.

Unfortunately, the someone being punished was me.
