Heaven is falling.

Heaven is falling!

HEAVEN IS FALLING!

Aliah’s announcement sent me reeling. I stared at the sky as if I could see all the way to the Lower Realm and watch the destruction take place in real time. Of course, I couldn’t. Of course, any correspondence would take weeks. Of course, there was no way to tell if he was lying and egging me on or heralding in a new rebellion.

I released a slow breath and let decision and intent and willpower rage through my body. Heaven might be at war, but it wasn’t lost. I adjusted my grip on my katanas and took an aggressive step towards the boundary line. There was no time to test whether Father Jake had done a good enough job or not. And in this moment, I wasn’t sure I needed protection.

I would take them all on if I had to.
