The other day I walked down to our basement. It’s not usually a place I visit as it’s been taken over by my two teenage daughters, making it most often sacred space, and every once in a while, enemy territory. Mostly, they prefer their privacy and independence, and I feel as though they deserve it and they’ve earned it.

But, I needed something down there and so I braved a trip. Which I now regret. Well okay, not really. But I was forced to come face to face with something I have been absolutely dreading: The Graduation Countdown.
